PEQUEÑAS SUBVENCIONES PARA LAS SESIONES DE CERTIFICACIÓN DE ANILLAMIENTO PARA LATINOAMÉRICA Y EL CARIBE
El Consejo Norteamericano de Anillamiento (NABC) está solicitando aplicaciones para pequeñas becas que apoyan el desarrollo y certificación de anilladores de aves de América Latina y el Caribe. Reconociendo el papel que juega el anillamiento de aves integrales en la ornitología y la conservación de las aves, estos fondos están destinados a (1) aumentar el número de biólogos de América Latina y el Caribe certificados por NABC y (2) promover las normas NABC en seguridad de las aves y la calidad de los datos a través de la certificación profesional. Las subvenciones están disponibles gracias al generoso apoyo financiero de la Asociación de Ornitólogos de Campo (AFO).
Los fondos estarán disponibles en dos formas:
1. Los grupos que organizan sesiones de certificación de NABC ubicados en América Latina o el Caribe que culminan en una oportunidad de certificación.
2. Biólogos de América Latina o el Caribe que asisten a un programa de entrenamiento de anillamiento de aves basado en normas NABC y culminando en una oportunidad de certificación.
Desde 2016 las becas han apoyado a >60 biólogos de >10 países a través de Latinoamérica que participaron en pasantías del anillamiento en Los Estados Unidos, Canadá, México, Costa Rica y sus propios países.

SMALL GRANTS FOR LATIN AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN BANDING CERTIFICATION SESSIONS
The North American Banding Council (NABC) is soliciting applications for small grants that support the development and certification of Latin American and Caribbean bird banders. Recognizing the integral role bird banding plays in ornithology and avian conservation, these funds are intended to (1) increase the pool of Latin American and Caribbean biologists certified by NABC and (2) promote NABC standards in bird safety and data quality through professional certification. The grants are available due to the generous financial support of the Association of Field Ornithologists (AFO).
Funds will be made available in two forms:
- Groups organizing NABC certification sessions located in Latin America or the Caribbean that culminate in a certification opportunity.
- Latin American or Caribbean biologists attending a bird banding training program based on NABC standards and culminating in a certification opportunity.
Since 2016 grants from this program have supported >60 biologists from >10 countries in Latin America who participated in banding internships in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, and their home countries.
